Many of my clients are exploring their identity due to unplanned life transitions like divorce, grief and loss, navigating a new or suspected Autism diagnosis, healing from family of origin wounds, and seeking self-empowerment.
A strong sense of who you are in the world and who you are in relation to others is part of a healthy functioning person. Oftentimes major upsets occur in our lives that send us questioning our sense of self. These life transitions, whether we choose them for ourselves or they happen unexpectedly, can be very confusing and challenging to manage on our own. Often our family of origin was so stifling that we were never allowed to explore our identity as kids and teens. This might have left you feeling at a loss about who you are in the world. Identity exploration can be deeply rewarding. It strengthens the authentic self and enhances trust and confidence in your abilities.
